Final fitness test

So we recently had our final fitness test. I improved in some areas and sis to do so well in some. Here are my scores.
Beep test: 8.2
T test: 12.50
Push up: 20
Plank: 1:12
Balance: 11
Sit and reach: 5
Vertical: 35cm (215-250)
Sit ups: 35

First off what I improve in. My core is a lot better and so is my vertical. But I didn't do as well on the beep test as I had hoped. My cardio isn't quite where is was before. Probably because Ihavent been doing many cardio intense things. My push ups isn't great but it's still better than before. Overall I think that I did pretty good this time.

(I have photos which I'll post in the morning because they won't upload)

Final assesment!

1) Participation
I believe that my participation has greatly improved over the year. PE is now a class that I look forward to. There were a couple of times especially in the beginning where I didn't really want to participate but I slowly got better. Partly because of the people I was with. This class has created such a great environment to be totally me. Although maybe varying from some of the things my friends do would be benifical. The other part is that I really want to feel good and I want to see a change in what I see in the mirror. I want to see w happy healthy person. I'm getting closer everyday. I always bring my gym strip. I also have pushed myself to work harder and harder on fitness days, and honestly I feel really good right now and want to keep it up over the summer. I believe that I deserve a 23/25 in participation.

2) Social Responsibility and Contribution to the Class
I'm still working on coming out of my shell to lead a game, but I do grab equipment and stay quiet when someone else is talking.  I also like to cheer people on. I know I appreciate it when spills do it for me, so why not give that support back? Also I try my hardest to put my negative thoughts out of my head during gym. Even if I'm having a bad day, I can still lead by example and have fun in gym. But, maybe expanding who I interact with would be good. I would give myself a 22/25 in this category.

3) Healthy Living
My overall health has improved thanks to a few tweaks I made at the beginning of the year. For example I wanted to try and eat more whole foods and vegetables. Now, I ah e veggies with every dinner, and I've cut down on the sweets. My flexibility has improved thanks to dance. If there was one thing that I would definetly improve, it would be my cardio. I hope to run and excersise over the summer to keep up my improvements. I would give myself a 23/25 in this category.

4)Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills
I think that my blog has been pretty good this year. It took me a bit to find things to post but then I realized that I was overthinking it. I try to post my strengths, weaknesses, and troubles. Not just a summary of what we did. There is a gap when my posts were scarce but lately I feel I've been doing pretty good. I could always use a few more food posts, but I try not to repeat myself. a few more posts on my peer's blog would always help.  I try to take phtots and provide evidence when I can. I would give myself 21/25 in Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills.

Overall I believe that I deserve an A because even though I may not be the best athlete I always try to be positive, give it my all, and encourage others.

June Classes Part 2

So a couple of days ago I had my first June Jazz class. I loved it! I can certainly tell that it's been a while since I did Russian splits, but I was pleased with how much I remembered. The class was an hour and a half long. The first 30 minutes were basically fitness. I'm sill a bit sore from doing so many abs workouts! Since we were in a class with girls that were 3 years older than me, I had to push myself to do some stuff that I couldn't do when I was actively doing jazz. But, I really enjoyed myself and can't wait until next class!

Dinner Time!

So, last night I had a fantastic dinner. I don't really know what to call it other than delicious! I guess you could say it's a stir fry. It was made with rice ramen noodles, peppers, chicken, corn, green onions, and cilantro. We chopped up everything then threw it in the frying pan for a bit. My dad got a little creative with the plating. Lately, my family and I have been trying to eat more whole foods. Foods that aren't processed. We've been trying to make as much as possible ourselves. This is a really simple but awesome dinner. Due to some food sensitivities in my family, it doesn't have gluten, eggs, or dairy.

June Jazz Classes Part 1

As some of you may know, I dance at a school outside of school. Currently, I just do tap. But, I did jazz a couple of years ago. Our studio has an option to try out a dance once a week, for a month. Lately, I've wanted to start jazz again. I kinda miss it. So, Jaden convinced me to go to a June class for jazz. She agreed to do it with me (which is awesome.) It'll be really interesting to see how much I still remember. I'm trying t go outside of my comfort zone to find things that I might really enjoy. I know that I've already done jazz, but maybe later I could try something else. I plan to do another post after my first class, so stay posted!

Year end dance recital

Last weekend, we had our year end dance recital. It was the grand finale to something that we've worked for the whole year. Since it ended really late, I'm exhausted! It was super fun to be with my friends. The atmosphere was great and it felt amazing to show off what I had been working so hard on. There was a little bit of drama though. The first night they decided to spray "snow" (soap weird stuff.) Luckily, it was sprayed after I performed because slippery soap and tap shoes really don't mix. Dancers were slipping and falling even after they tried to clean it up in intermission. But, the Sunday show was a lot better. I feel like I improved a lot and can't wait to start in September!

More Lacrosse! (With Buddies)

So we went to see our buddies again. This one was a challenge. Teach our buddies lacrosse without letting them poke each other with the sticks. I teamed up with Deanna, Jaden, Aaliyah, Tulin, and Jessica. It did take a while for them to get the concept. But they did a lot better than I thought. When we were practicing throwing, Jessica thought of getting them to say their names before they throw. This really helped them work together. We were on the sidelines helping as much as we can. At one point my buddy said she needed a break. She was working really hard so I sat in the grass with her while she took a second to catch her breath. She told me that she wanted to play lacrosse all the time. That made me really happy. I asked her how much fun she was having on a scale of 1-10, she said 12.  Our team scored a couple of goals and had tons of fun. At the end, my buddy gave me a big hug and ran off to go to lunch.
