Final assesment!

1) Participation
I believe that my participation has greatly improved over the year. PE is now a class that I look forward to. There were a couple of times especially in the beginning where I didn't really want to participate but I slowly got better. Partly because of the people I was with. This class has created such a great environment to be totally me. Although maybe varying from some of the things my friends do would be benifical. The other part is that I really want to feel good and I want to see a change in what I see in the mirror. I want to see w happy healthy person. I'm getting closer everyday. I always bring my gym strip. I also have pushed myself to work harder and harder on fitness days, and honestly I feel really good right now and want to keep it up over the summer. I believe that I deserve a 23/25 in participation.

2) Social Responsibility and Contribution to the Class
I'm still working on coming out of my shell to lead a game, but I do grab equipment and stay quiet when someone else is talking.  I also like to cheer people on. I know I appreciate it when spills do it for me, so why not give that support back? Also I try my hardest to put my negative thoughts out of my head during gym. Even if I'm having a bad day, I can still lead by example and have fun in gym. But, maybe expanding who I interact with would be good. I would give myself a 22/25 in this category.

3) Healthy Living
My overall health has improved thanks to a few tweaks I made at the beginning of the year. For example I wanted to try and eat more whole foods and vegetables. Now, I ah e veggies with every dinner, and I've cut down on the sweets. My flexibility has improved thanks to dance. If there was one thing that I would definetly improve, it would be my cardio. I hope to run and excersise over the summer to keep up my improvements. I would give myself a 23/25 in this category.

4)Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills
I think that my blog has been pretty good this year. It took me a bit to find things to post but then I realized that I was overthinking it. I try to post my strengths, weaknesses, and troubles. Not just a summary of what we did. There is a gap when my posts were scarce but lately I feel I've been doing pretty good. I could always use a few more food posts, but I try not to repeat myself. a few more posts on my peer's blog would always help.  I try to take phtots and provide evidence when I can. I would give myself 21/25 in Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills.

Overall I believe that I deserve an A because even though I may not be the best athlete I always try to be positive, give it my all, and encourage others.

  1. Maddie you have had a wonderful year. I am actually surprised to hear you say you are worried about what you see in a mirror. You have so many strengths and while perhaps not an "athlete" by trade your dance class has kept you very athletic. Your goals for eating seem balanced and achievable but your cardio goal (while beneficial to endurance during dance) isn't instantly one I would gravitate towards for you. Why cardio specifically? It's not a bad goal but I want to talk about WHY so that we can make sure you are being the most effective with your time to achieve the desired outcomes. I think you sell yourself short on the ability to impact others some. We have said all year that we can't have 30 people in charge (remember the class vs class battle… yikes) so impacting others needs to take many different forms for a group to work. Collectively your dance troupe has made this place safe and yet demanding. You hold expectations for each other but do it with praise and encouragement. You are a part of that.. not just a recipient. Spend some time thinking about what it is you bring and why that works. :) I wish I could see some of your dancing and I am happy Jaden and you are finding new challenges for summer activity. Thank you for your efforts this year.. I really enjoyed having you in class. Have a great summer.
